TaxDome: features, pricing and who it fits

Checked November 2, 2026 · taxdome.com

US-built practice management and client portal for accounting and tax firms, with a German site and a DATEV integration. It combines portal, documents, tasks, e-signature and invoicing in one tool. German pricing is per user and year, from €800 per user on a 1-year term excl. VAT, with unlimited clients.

Who TaxDome is for

Best for

  • Small Steuerkanzleien that want one tool for client portal, documents, tasks, e-signature and invoicing
  • Firms that need unlimited clients without per-client fees
  • Firms already working with DATEV Unternehmen online who want documents synced

Look elsewhere if

  • Firms that need a fully native DATEV Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen replacement (it is an add-on layer)
  • Teams that dislike a steep setup
  • Buyers who need published SSO or hosting-in-Germany statements (not found)

2-year plan€750per user per yearper the same page

Per the German pricing page ('Ein Plan, alle Funktionen') as shown in a search result: €800 per user and year on a 1-year term, €750 on a 2-year term, prices excl. VAT; a 3-year term is marked best seller, its price was not shown (an independent site lists €700 per year). The US page uses different models (per-seat USD and a per-active-client model), not applicable to Germany. A tax & bytes listing (Sept 2024) shows '€ 50,00 / Monat' for a 1-year license. Integrations, security and hosting

Worth knowing before you buy

  • German price shown per user and year (€800 on a 1-year term) with unlimited clients, excl. VAT
  • DATEV integration is described as working through DATEV Unternehmen online; an independent review doubts a native connection
  • TaxDome's German homepage claims 4,7/5 from over 7600 reviews (vendor claim)
  • US pricing uses other models; do not quote USD figures for the German market
  • TaxDome publishes a KanzleiDrive comparison page (taxdome.com/de-de/kanzleidrive-vs-taxdome)

What vendors in this category ask before quoting

Answer these once in a SaaSBid request and TaxDome and its alternatives quote against the same facts.

  1. Which country will the return be filed in, and are you also filing in a second one?Tax software serves one market, so a two-country setup usually needs two products.
  2. Are you a sole proprietor, freelancer, LLC, partnership or corporation?Entity type decides which edition and which forms are required.
  3. Is your VAT or Umsatzsteuer status small-business exempt or regular? Some German products cover only exempt or simple cases and treat VAT-liable users separately.
  4. How many returns and how many states or businesses do you need to file?Per-state fees and limits on returns per license change the total price.
  5. Do you want a person to review or prepare the return, or only software?Expert tiers cost more and can be priced per entity or as a share of a refund.
  6. If you run a tax firm: how many clients and staff do you have, and do you keep DATEV?Client bands, included users and the DATEV interface decide which plan and which add-ons are needed.
